Apple Dumplings

I have been hungry for home made apple dumplings for a LONG time..Jeff's dad brought me over some apples from his brother and I decided to make some last night...

Jeff's mom gave me her recipe and it is YUM!

I forgot to take a picture after they were done...because we were eating them!!! They were as good as I remembered....fresh from the oven with milk poured over them!

Fall Pictures

It was such a beautiful day out today that we had to go out and take a few pictures...that and my "FF" requested them....

They were pretty late harvesting in the fields by our house this year...at least it seemed that way to me!



I think the one above of Bryn sitting in the field is one of my favorites from today.

Tuesday

I made Amish Baked Oatmeal for breakfast this morning! It is a soft warm granola...we like it with fresh strawberries on top! A family favorite!

The leaves are just starting to turn here...it has been a beautiful fall..except for the bugs! My favorite time of year is right after the first freeze when all the bugs are gone and we have the warm summer days and cool evenings..and did I mention..NO bugs!!

Alex has been a working machine this fall! He helped put up all the new fence behind the house the last week or so..that involved several afternoons and evenings til after dark of putting in posts and running electric rope and snapping on connectors and clearing weeds and running for flashlights and screwdrivers and whatever else his dad needed! He was incredible!

Yesterday he went out and took down all the old fence and cleaned up the yard...wrapped up the old wire and put away the posts and connectors...then helped get our pool taken down..all that in between school and all his regular chores! Thanks Alex!

Oops

I got a not so subtle hint from one of my favorite followers yesterday....He wondered what happened to my camera...suggesting the lack of blog posts could be due to camera issues...I honestly have to say I have been a little discouraged lately and have a severe lack of interest in photography...BUT thanks to my FF..favorite follower..the interest level is picking up and I will try to pick up my camera and get back on track!
