At the Fall Party

They had a contest for the best costume...surprise of all surprises, Alex got 2nd place! My older kids tend to make jokes about my costume making abilities....They were talking tonight about the time one of them wore a green shirt with tinsel and light strings wrapped around them and went as a Christmas Tree...Not a winner!!! Or the time we put a box over them and wrapped it in Christmas paper and called it a present....not a winner either....Bryn did win first once when I did a raggedy ann costume..but that is NOT the norm...creativity is NOT my middle name. Sounds like he had a wonderful time at the party though, with or without a good costume!!

Alex's fall party

Alex is ready to go to the fall party our church has every year as an alternative to Halloween. He is pretty excited..the theme this year is military or patriotic. He decided to be a civil war soldier.

A Beautiful Fall Day

The kids and I went for a LONG hike at Brinton Timber Trails today. I wish someone would have told me that if I walked til I got tired, I still had to turn around and come back......That climb up the bluff from the river about did me in! If you scroll down, you will notice it seemed to be a long walk for Alex too...Tyler came by and offered him a piggyback ride part of the way back. Wish I could have had one too! I did ask wyatt, but he turned me down. It was a beautiful fall day to be out enjoying the fall colors that God created this year. I don't remember seeing a fall this colorful for a while. Next time...maybe tomorrow...I am starting earlier and taking a snack to enjoy before heading back.

New Bedset

I was so excited..I have been looking at this comforter set all spring and summer, but couldn't bring myself to spend over $200 on it. I was up at the mall a few weeks ago and stumbled across this one last comforter set, in just the size I needed for my bed...on clearance for half of the half price!!!! I was pretty excited to say the least! Now, inspired by Sarah, I am wanting to paint my dresser....looking for suggestions as to what color would look good?? I am kind of leaning towards the darker red(my favorite color at the moment) or maybe a sagey green tone? Let me know what your opinions are!

Sing time

Our family sang for the evening service at church this Sunday. We really appreciate Tyler playing for us! He taught himself to play the guitar and is a blessing to our family! I LOVE to hear him play!

Bryn sang in a teen girls group for the morning service and then again for the evening service.
