Atwood Tree Farm

This is the moment I have been waiting for...the tradition of going to pick out the tree...what we save for in our fun money jar....an Atwood Christmas Tree!!!!

Jeff and Bryn found the PERFECT tree within minutes of walking through the door of the shed...

Dean and Susie came with the girls and found their tree quickly too. We have been going to get a tree here together for the last few years and we look forward to it every year now!

Pictures at the Tree Farm

They had some unique settings for pictures at the tree farm and we took advantage of them. It was kind of rainy/snowy/sleety/wintry while we were there...made it feel more Christmasy!

This one turned out a little blurry, but I thought it was pretty neat anyway.

At the tree farm

The tree farm is a neat place to visit..they have a little shop that sells all kinds of Christmas decorations. We tasted some hot apple cider and cookies while we browsed. Bryn got an up close picture of this wreath..I think it turned out to be a festive picture!

Christmas Parade

We took part in the Christmas Parade tonight. Our Live Animal Christmas play is in two weeks and we had some of the animals that will be in the play at the parade.
Bryn and Alex got to sit on the camel...

Getting the float ready to go. We had sheep and a baby calf and a small donkey on the float with Mary and Joseph. Jeff and I pulled the float in our red truck..

We are pretty excited about the play this year! The monkey(sitting on the miniature horse) in the picture here is off of the movie, Dr Dolittle..I was told he is the brother to Dexter, the monkey in Night at the Museum!! These animals and the camels will be in our auditorium for the play, December 13 and 14!!

Thanksgiving Day

We were supposed to go to Copes for Thanksgiving, but they came down with the flu, so we stayed home and make our own little last minute feast....

We had a rousing game of family football right before lunch to work up a good appetite...

Toto's new dog house

Alex decided he wanted to try his hand at building something. So he asked if he could make Toto a dog house. Tyler cut the boards the size he wanted them, but other than that, he did it all by himself..not bad for his first project!! I was pretty impressed..Tyler said he was bitter cuz we would never have let him try that when he was 8!!He even used the power drill.... LOL!

It's that time of year!

It is time to go get a CHRISTMAS TREE!!! I am so ready for Christmas this year!!! I can't wait!

This is our tree fund....a jar that we fill with change throughout the year until the day after Thanksgiving...I am taking it in today to get it counted......

It all adds up!!

Morning Coffee

Here is what I used to make my coffee this morning...the peppermint mocha creamer is a favorite right now. I also have some chocolate mint truffle creamer that is very good! I splurged and bought the reddi whip topping and it makes a yummy coffee!!!!

New Piano

I went to an auction near our house this weekend. I got this piano!! We already have one, but no one would bid on it so I did! It is a Baldwin piano in beautiful shape, other than a few sticky keys!! I only paid $20 for it...I think I did ok!! Now we have to decide if Bryn is too attached to her old faithful piano she learned on, or if she is willing to part with it and move on to something a little smaller and newer!! And for all of you that know me and where I live...YES I HAVE TWO (2) PIANOS in my living room!!!!!

Tonight was the first play practice..just a walk through of parts to try to figure out what we are doing....I think we all had a good time!!!
