Dealing with our sorrow...!!

After the boys left, we went back to the hotel to relax for a little bit before we had to head back home..I checked out the fitness room and walked off a little stress....

Riding with Friends..

Today is the day my boys are leaving for college! It will be a sad day at our house! We have tried to pack all the fun into the last week that we could..made LOTS of memories...Saturday we went down to Hammes to go riding. We had an incredible time riding, playing games, grilling out , and just relaxing on a perfectly beautiful day..

Alex got to ride Midnight around the yard for a bit.

Bryn is really going to miss hanging out with her big brothers! But I am thankful for the days of fun we have had together this summer!

Making Memories...

We were planning to camp at Brinton Timbers this weekend, but due to the 12+ inches of rain we received, the trails were closed to horses..but not people. When we went down to check on them, we walked down the trail a ways and found the creek alot bigger and more fun then normal!

Since Wilson and Tyler are leaving for college in California this week, I talked them into a few pictures.

We went out to the camp last Saturday and while the other kids were all playing volleyball and basketball, I got Alex to pose for a few pictures...then played around with photoshop this morning.

A few weeks ago, I was cleaning some apartments and stumbled across a fish bowl....it was free for the taking, so I brought it home for Alex....We used to have a big aquarium, but when the kids came along...the fish left.
Alex has been patiently waiting for me to get the fish bowl washed up and the water ready...so this morning..all ready to go...he headed out to my fish pond in the middle of my flower bed...to catch a fish....armed with a little green fish net....he tried all afternoon to catch one...but the pond is big and the net is small...it didn't happen. SO when Jeff got off work, I called and asked if he would mind stopping at the pet store in town to bring us one small fish....

Just kidding...I think we should name it after Elmo's fish. Alex hasn't decided. I suggested bringing home one small CHEAP fish to try...We do have two cats in the house...and we are not known for our expertise in fish care....being the good Dad that he is...he brought home one small CHEAP fish for me, and one bigger nicer not so cheap fish for Alex! If you look closely at the top picture, you can see one cheap white fish and one very pretty nicer gold fish at the bottom of the bowl.

Brinton RIde

We loaded up the horses in our new trailer tonight and headed out to Brinton timbers to do a little riding...We didn't get there until 7:30 so we didn't have long, but that is the good part about having your own trailer..you can just take off on the spur of the moment if you want to...

Freedom was anxious to just GO.

Wilson and Bryn took off down the trails...Jeff went with them once and then came back to help me work with Libby...it was Libby and Tucker's first time out anywhere!! We have never been able to take them anywhere before and it was fun! I did ride around on Libby for a few minutes. She did incredible! Bryn started her down a trail to see what would happen and she was fine with going.

The kids went out to ride horses this morning...they are practicing for the rodeo on Sunday. Alex is going to do the cowboy pickup with Wilson....
