Kelly stopped by this morning with this beautiful vase of daffodils from her yard!

They are such a bright cheery yellow..like the sunshine we have been missing all winter!

Now and Then

I went in to wake up Alex this morning and this is what I found...

This is right before Christmas when we brought home this ornery little cat...she loves her Alex!

Home made pizza

I made some pizza for supper tonight. I was wanting something a little different than the family favorite of pepperoni...so I cut up a leftover piece of grilled chicken breast and added onion, mushrooms, tomato and some spinach..it turned out very tasty..Jeff even liked it.

I also made a taco pizza..

I think that was the favorite tonight for the kids...

Saturday breakfast..

Jeff got up and made omelets for breakfast this morning..

He carmelized some onions and cooked some bacon and mushrooms..I like fresh spinach in mine too! No the coffee didn't go IN the omelets, but morning doesn't start til I have my coffee!

Bathroom makeover

Bryn painted the bathroom for me today! I have always thought the old wallboard looked like a grandmas house..no offense to all you grandmas out there..I am "grandma" to Brianna!! I put out all my frog stuff again...it is so springy and fresh looking...just in time for our winter storm tomorrow!!

This is the lodge decorated bathroom before we painted. I SO LOVE the new look! Any comments?

Cranberry orange scones

Kelly came over this morning...we decided to start walking together a few times a week..can I just say that it was COLD this morning at 8 o'clock... I got up early and made some cranberry orange scones to replace all the lost calories from our walk...they were a little more cake like than I wanted, but they were still good. I had never made them before so if any of you out there have any suggestions or good recipes, I would love to hear from you!

Cat Nap

I found this kitty sleeping in the sun today...I was trying to sneak up to get a picture and she woke up..she was all curled up in the weeds, hanging through sound asleep! What a spot for a nap!

Fun at the park

I took the kids to the park today to enjoy the beautiful spring weather...that is about to end! After hitting the 70s yesterday and today, it is supposed to turn off cool and rainy the rest of the week..yeah. A trip to the park is never just to play anymore!!! I LOVE those park pictures!! I am slowly learning a few things about my camera..mostly by trial and error...no make that mostly by error!!! I still have a LOT to learn, but it has been fun to play around and try to figure out a few things and i even sat down and have been reading through the instruction manual...what a novel idea...? Here are a few of the pictures from today that I really liked.

Tyler wanted to know why I thought a picture of a train engine getting ready to run over Alex was such a neat picture...????

Aside from a little wind, you couldn't have asked for a more gorgeous day! Bright blue sunshine filled skies!!! I am ready for a whole lot more of these days!

Iowa Floods

We have had a lot of rain here lately...I didn't get out to get pictures until the flooding was already receding..

A visit with Mom

I went and visited Mom last week...She is always glad to see us!! We visited for a while in her room and then I took her over to watch the kids playing in the park..it was one of those few teaser days of spring..

I took her a new shirt and some sun glasses...she LOVES my sun glasses..never wants to take them off for anything.

Tyler and Alex played a little basketball at the park while they were waiting for me.

There is a really nice park right across the street from the nursing home. We have enjoyed a lot of time there over the years. Mom always enjoys watching the kids play.
